Why, God, are the Israelis swapping live terrorists for dead Israeli soldiers?
If Ariel Sharon wasn't already IN a coma, this would be enough to cause one. It's so fundamentally wrong that no words can express my outrage.

I understand wanting to bring remains back for a closure for the family, but to unleash someone who happily slaughtered a four year old in the name of their purpose,in exchange, is beyond reason.
In one of Kim Dutoit's essays, he discusses the necessity for civilized men to revert to savagery at times when dealing with savages; I fully agree with his assessment. But then, I suspect that Kim is a member of what Walter Russell Meade calls the Jacksonian Tradition. (scroll down to the bottom of the link for a link to Meade's suberb article.) I am most definitely a Jacksonian; many NRA members are.
Allah help the Palestinians were I the PM of Israel. Had I been, I would have arranged the trade to be made simultaneously in a no-man's-land on the Israel/Gaza frontier, and shot Kuntar right there in front of the Palestinian delegation. "No longer will we trade live terrorists for corpses, no matter how dear," would be the message sent.
And I'm not even Jewish. *laughs*
