Shipwreck Blog: Unidentified Schooner, Louisiana Coast

From the absence of obvious documentation and a large amount of weaponry found aboard, the schooner is suspected to be a privateer from the War of 1812.

And here's a photo of a 6-pounder cannon retrieved from the wreck, in very good condition indeed:



So maybe old Jean Lafitte himself knew this ship and walked her decks. Stranger things have happened.
