An Oak Ridge, TN, scientist claims to have invented a portable sonic weapon powered by a 9volt battery.
Science fiction writer Larry Niven wrote of sonic stunners in his Known Universe stories, in which they were used as non-lethal defense weapons, duelling weapons, and crowd-control devices.
