If you want to do basic photo editing in a very easy fashion without purchasing expensive software such as Photoshop, a good alternative has been available on line for some years now:
Picnik. I found it via an Instapundit link. One thing I always worried about was that the service would be discontinued, like most quality free things are. Well, no need to worry, apparently:
Picnik has been acquired by Google.
