Japan: Where Have All Our Centenarians Gone?

They appear to have misplaced 200 of them.

“It is impossible to keep a check on who is alive or dead, unless somebody registers a person’s death,” said Midori Kotani, a senior research director at Dai-Ichi Life Research Institute Inc. “The pension system is founded on the premise that people are good, not that they kill family members at home, and bury them.”

  2. @Michael W.: Only one, a giant one named Rodan. Unfortunately he died in battle with Godzilla, I think, and isn't around anymore.

  3. Damn, I didn't even know that Rodan was sick. Just don't tell me that Mothra is gone too. That would be way too much to take.
