Was It THAT Obvious?

SC Senator Jim DeMint comments on President Obama's request to address a joint session of Congress.

“He believes people are stupid, or at least not smart enough to catch onto him,” DeMint says, shaking his head, days before the president unveils his jobs plan. “In some ways, to position himself as a leader, he calls us all in like children in the Congress, coming over to announce his jobs program. At least the implications, the subtleties there, suggest he’s leading us. That’s what he’s trying to do. But from a businessman’s perspective, it’s really intolerable.”

This "story" is entirely based on Jim DeMint's speculation on what Obama might say, to which he is taking pre-emptive offense. This might be considered worthy of reporting, to anyone besides the haters, if it were published after Obama really does say all these things.

@wally: Obama's habit of talking down to people is already well established, as well as his habit of insulting guests to their faces (Supreme Court at 2009 SOTU, Paul Ryan at a more recent speech). He even has a contemptible habit of rubbing his cheek with his upraised middle finger that he denies is an obscene gesture, even though he's done it on more than one occasion.

Gonna operate on that level, eh? I'm off to hang out with the grown-ups.
