Random Speculation

For those of you who have read Robert Ruark's classic coming-of-age book The Old Man and the Boy: What do you think of Sam Elliott as the Old Man in a film or miniseries version? (And yes, I'm aware of what Velociman said about Sam recently. I still think he's perfect for the role.)

Perhaps Sam would also be good in the title role of Ruark's The Honey Badger. Just spitballin' here.

@Velociman: The Honey Badger, unfortunately, is currently locked into people's conscious as associated with the viral YouTube video narrated by Randall, so any movie with that title would be assumed to be cashing in on that.

For an Old Man and the Boy film to work, it would have to be done as reverently as A River Runs Through It was done. Knowing Hollywood, they'd either want to change the locale from NC to *anywhere but the South,* or else keep the NC location and use it as an opportunity for South-bashing.
