I Wonder Which Would Have a Higher Body Count?
I'm pondering which would likely have the higher body count: a civil war to prevent the US from becoming a Communist country, or peacefully allowing the US to become a Communist country, with the body count coming down the line as Communism works its usual murderous magic?
A civil war at least has the advantage of killing Communists from the get-go, and possibly killing enough of them that they're never able to rise again. Letting Communism take hold peacefully will result in the death of the US we (the deplorables, the rurals, the white trash, the flyovers, call us what you will) grew up loving, with ourselves marked for gulags and firing squads by the Communist urban dwellers.
And yeah, I'm not willing to call them just Democrats or Liberals or Progressives or Democratic Socialists any more. They're fucking Communists, and we need to start calling them this - - even their propaganda wing, the journalists of the MSM. Fucking. Communists.

Damn, I Hate Leftists
Social Justice Warriors managed to get author John Ringo disinvited from ConCarolinas, a literary convention that will be hosted here in Charlotte in June. I've never attended a convention before, but was considering it because I'm a fan of John's writing. Now? Forget it.

Goodwhites and Badwhites
John Derbyshire explains the difference, as seen through the lens of the "Cecil the Lion" shooting.
Because, inevitably, the whole incident became refracted through the lens of current public discourse in the U.S.A. into a skirmish in what I call the Cold Civil War: that is, the everlasting struggle between, on the one hand, the Progressive goodwhites who dominate our country’s mainstream culture—the Main Stream Media, the universities and law schools, big corporations, the federal bureaucracy—and, on the other hand, the ignorant gap-toothed hillbilly redneck badwhites clinging to their guns and religion out on the despised margins of civilized society.
Dr. Palmer is, of course, a badwhite. The evidence for this in in his actions. Hunting charismatic megafauna for sport is a thing only badwhites do. Big game trophy hunting is in fact as typically, characteristically badwhite as shopping at Whole Foods, or patronizing microbreweries, or listening to NPR are characteristically goodwhite.
I, myself, am a badwhite. Some of my readers here qualify as goodwhites, and some of my erstwhile Facebook friends are goodwhites, also. I say "erstwhile" because a couple of them unfriended me during the Sad Puppies campaign for science fiction's Hugo Awards, as I had the temerity to suggest they try reading the work of a particular individual (Vox Day) rather than dismissing him unread simply through SJW solidarity.
"Are You a Goodwhite Or a Badwhite?"

Throw Us In That Briar Patch, Please
"Major Democratic Donor Supports Southern Secession: South ‘dumbing down’ America, donor declares."
His proposal is to let the South have its own country AND relocate the Usual Suspects™ up to the Great Liberal North.
When do we start?
h/t Free North Carolina.

The 1864 Snowball Battle
6000 bored Confederate soldiers, all hurling snowballs.
Damn, that would make a great Dan Troiani painting, wouldn't it?

The Balkanized States of America
USA Today notices.
It's as simple as this: we don't mind our guys/gals in Congress doing stuff for us, but we don't want the other team's guys/gals doing stuff to us. And whichever team you're on, you don't believe the other team. We're becoming more tribal.

You Know Which Republican Could Become President?
Whichever one would go on MSNBC and punch Chris Matthews right in the face.
Just black his eye, bloody his nose, maybe knock a tooth or two out. It'll mean an assault charge, but that's a misdemeanor in nearly all jurisdictions, and the Republican that did it would be a superstar that evening.
Rand Paul is totally missing an opportunity here. And if it happened more than once - - Rand Paul on one occasion, Ted Cruz on another, for example - - the MSM would start watching their filthy mouths a little bit, maybe, and show some respect - - or at least fear.

Cautionary Tale For Gun Grabbers
When you advocate for the American public to be disarmed, and for the military and police to have a monopoly of force, remember this: the Left won't always be in charge of government, and you could find yourselves targeted as "anarchists" just as easily as Tea Party types can.
RALEIGH The first trial of a “Moral Monday” protester revealed far more than the guilty verdicts that have shaken attorneys and demonstrators still awaiting their court dates.
General Assembly Police Chief Jeff Weaver testified to a murmur of disbelief among the many lawyers attending the Wake County District Court hearing that his 18-officer department had people in this region they labeled “anarchists” and collected intelligence on them.
Weaver did not identify the so-called anarchists, nor did he reveal how many his department considered to fall in that category.
But the chief at the helm of the law enforcement agency that arrested more than 930 people this summer testified that his officers had scanned the many “Moral Monday” rallies with eyes trained for “anarchists.”
On Monday, Weaver declined to elaborate on what kind of intelligence his department collected on the people he and his officers considered to be “against government.”

Never the Twain Shall Meet
Not even in a box of chocolates.
We have several months to go before we actually get to vote. But with the Democratic National Convention headed to town in just a few weeks, you can declare your allegiance in chocolate.
Moonstruck Chocolate Co.'s Election Collection goes on sale this week at Fresh Market stores in Charlotte. Each four-piece box features either elephants or donkeys whimsically rendered in chocolate and filled with dark chocolate ganache.
Moonstruck rep Theresa Ford says they tried doing a mixed box with elephants and donkeys, but it didn't fly: "Nobody liked that."
