Science fiction author and 2nd Amendment champion, of heart failure.
I remember reading the first few books of his Guardians of the Flame series while I lived in Spain, but stopped after I couldn't continue suspension of disbelief (a scene in which the hero simultaneously burns while quaffing healing potion was the trigger).
More recently he was arrested for openly carrying a firearm as a political statement of support for the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution.
