The change is provisional, based on customer reaction. I'd guess that Pizza Hut remembers the New Coke debacle and doesn't want to be the victim of the same sort of corporate blunder.
Hard to understand why they'd mess with an established brand name, though. It'd be similar to Burger King renaming itself Healthy Meal Monarch.

When I was living in Wichita, there was a more upscale Pizza Hut restaurant that served pasta too. I think it was called Pizza Hut Cafe. I was disappointed that it didn't take off.
