US Servicemembers In Japan Deal With Strict New Japanese Knife Laws

Story.

The laws appear to not be totally unreasonable, but the story has military authorities erring on the side of caution.

That was one aspect of Navy life I disliked, being treated like a criminal when it came time to leave the ship on liberty. The Buck knife that you carry on duty without a word of reproach becomes an illegal weapon when it's time to go on liberty.
