Good-Bye To Urinals On US Navy Ships

The "gender-neutral" USS Gerald R. Ford won't have urinals, just toilets.

No big deal as far as I'm concerned, as long as they don't implement a regulation that male sailors must urinate into the toilets while sitting down.

Yeah, but will they mandate you have to leave the seat DOWN?...

Oh come on - you know that's coming. With all the pitching and rolling in heavy seas, it will be to "cut down on the need for frequent cleaning".

@Borepatch: nah, the Navy cleans them daily as part of routine ships' duties, and they are inspected regularly by the CO or the XO. It's one of the jobs junior enlisted personnel perform on board ship, since they don't have janitorial staff aboard.

They still have sinks don't they?
