Connecticut Gun Control Update

Not only are most of the gun owners in Connecticut refusing to register their "assault weapons" in response to a new law passed in Connecticut last year, but now 250 Connecticut law enforcement officers are signalling their refusal to enforce the law via an open letter to the CT legislature.

Interesting times we're living in.

Update: On the other hand, some cops are putting an extra coat of polish on the ol' jackboots.

Update 2: The open letter purporting to be from 250 CT law enforcement officers has been found to be a hoax.

@Brock Townsend: we'll see how committed to the Constitution they are when the Gov. starts firing them.

Some are thugs that want the job because it gives a sense of power over others. I just hope that the balance of law enforcement and military will in the end do the right thing.

The cops surround the house and use megaphones to instruct the homeowner to come out with his hands up. He does, and the lead cop tenses as he sees him grab the pistol grip of a long gun strapped over his shoulder. Then the cop grins as he sees what looks like a smallbore double barreled shotgun leveled at his chest, knowing full well the body armor will easily protect him against the small handful of pellets. The homeowner walks slowly and deliberately forward as half a dozen lasers dance on his own vest, and the cop is still smiling as the 570 grain solid brass round punches a neat hole through his vest, lung, the vest and lung of the cop behind him, and the door of the squad car. Seems they didn't have to worry about his assault weapons.
