When a gunman opened fire on Reverend Fred Winters in the First Baptist Church, Reverend Winters was able to deflect the first shot by brandishing his Bible.
Unfortunately for Reverend Winters, the gunman fired three more shots before his semiautomatic pistol jammed, and Reverend Winters didn't have any more Bibles. I guess you can conclude that God did the best he could, blocking that first shot and causing a malfunction so that the gunman could be captured.
We can learn a few lessons from this tragedy. First, one can never own too many Bibles. Second, we can see why it's necessary to teach malfunction drills to owners of semiautomatic pistols. Revolver owners seldom experience such problems.
