For a while several years ago severed feet were washing ashore in British Columbia, and I blogged on it at the time.
Now we appear to have a solution for the feet: they came from suicides who jumped off a bridge over the Frazier River near Vancouver.
Apparently the rubber sneakers that the feet were encased in had enough buoyancy to float once the rest of the leg rotted away/was eaten by sea creatures.

Another Severed Foot Washes Ashore In Canada
Story.
I still think it's a deranged sawmill serial killer, myself. Click on the tag for other stories in this continuing series.

Severed Feets Blog: Now In USA!
The severed feet that have been washing ashore on western Canadian beaches are now finding their way south to the US.

I still think it's a sawmill serial killer. Or maybe a lumberjack serial killer.

Disembodied Canadian Foot Identified
One of the five disembodied human feet found over the past year along the shorelines of British Columbia has been matched to a depressed man who went missing a year ago.
Canadian police used DNA testing to link the foot to the man after receiving a tip last week, Sgt. Pierre Lemaitre of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Saturday. Police are not identifying the Vancouver-area man out of respect for his family, who want time to notify loved ones, Lemaitre said.

Now Feet Are Washing Up On Swedish Beaches.
HALMSTAD, Sweden, July 10 (UPI) -- Officials said they are investigating how a human foot in a man's shoe ended up on a beach in southern Sweden.
The foot was found Tuesday on the shore in Tylosand in Halmstad, Sweden, the Swedish News Agency TT reported.
Sjolander said it was "far too early" to say whether the foot is related to six other feet found on Canada's Pacific coast.
Traveling serial killer? Copycat? I'm baffled.
Think I need to start a new category "feet," since I've been covering this story already. I'll go back and tag the previous entries.

Why the Right Feet?
Sneaker-clad human feet have been washing ashore in British Columbia.
VICTORIA, British Columbia, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- For the third time in six months, a human right foot in a sneaker was found washed ashore on islands off British Columbia.
Last August, two other right feet in men's size 12 sneakers washed ashore on two other nearby islands, and the RCMP wasn't able to match DNA from any police databases, the newspaper said.
Gail Anderson, a forensic entomologist from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, told the Times Colonist it's common for hands, feet and the head to detach as a body decomposes in water but she said it's unusual for them to float.
I wonder if, somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere, only left feet wash ashore?
