A local man died when he ran into his burning house to try and save his wheelchair-bound wife.
The wife's body was found in the living room. The man, Roy Farmer, died of smoke inhalation after being found by firemen near the side door.
*shakes head sadly*
I don't know why I post these stories. These aren't people I know.

I wonder if there is a way to market "EEBD's" for civilian use. A two minute tent of air over the head could save so many lives, I think it would be worth pursuing.
Then again, Lawyers as a class will try to sue the makers of EEBD's for making people take risks.

They would have been useful in the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001, wouldn't they? I think I've seen such things, with a plastic hood that fits over the face.
Yes, the same ones that come in an orange canister, located at the foot of each rack onboard US Naval vessels.
I wonder how much each unit costs? I would buy ten. Two for each room and one each for training.
