Weather Note

Since we finally got some cooler weather a few days ago, the soy beans have begun to change color in the area bean fields. Right now they are at that mix of yellow and green that works out to chartreuse when you look at the field as a whole. In a few days they will be golden yellow, then will turn brown quickly after that.

Fall, my favorite time of year. Finally.

i'll second that...i made a run last week up to north georgia just in time for a lovely little cool front...high 50's overnight and low seventies overday, and even some hardwood trees starting to color and drop their flora.

unfortunately it was a short trip and i'm now back in the hell's kitchen of central fla...still in the hot and sticky 90's.

familiarity does indeed breed contempt; while some may yearn for the heat, a lifetime spent in it has made me weary of it.

I hear you. I was born and raised in Florida, and when the opportunity came to move to cooler climes at 17 (Knoxville, TN) I happily took it. I've lived in hot climates again since, but I'm happier where it's cooler. (Born Gainesville, raised there and Melrose, FL, in case you were about to ask. Redneck Florida.)
