For Those Of You In North Carolina...

...I draw your attention to this reenactment event taking place at Fort Dobbs State Historic Site on February 27th.

I've seen Civil War and Revolutionary War reenactments, but never a French and Indian War reenactment. I'm making tentative plans to be there.

Fort Dobbs' 250th events will take place in 2010. The smaller living history weekend, February 27-28, will mark the 250th (Feb 27th) of the Cherokee attack on the Fort. The evening program will mark the exact time and date of the attack, but will not be a battle re-creation. April 10-11, 2010, Fort Dobbs will present WAR FOR EMPIRE major event which will recreate the attack and will include 100+ re-enactors, sutlers and premier programming. Both events are free. The February 27th evening event is limited to the first 50 people registered.
