One of the odd things about medicine, is that it often takes a one size fits all approach to patients. There is a poor, or rather no, understanding of complications due to age.

Older people react differently to pain and also don't have the recuperative powers that younger people do. For that reason alone, an admission would have been prudent.

Nexis is well established and is used to "clear" potential cervical injuries in several countries. Still, even if she was clear by Nexis, her pain should have been a warning that something else was going on.
