Raiford in his early career worked with legendary newsman Walter Cronkite and was one of the reporters who narrated the funeral of John F. Kennedy at Arlington National Cemetery.
At the John Boy and Billy show on WRFX-FM he would read the news and do commentary, รก la Paul Harvey. Some of his catch phrases included "Who says that? I say that!" and "Why don't somebody step on him?"
He'll be missed.
